About CWIT – Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology

Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology (CWIT), is one of the premier Institutions imparting technical education in Maharashtra. The Institute had celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in year 2013-14. It started with inspiration of Late Sir Cusrow Wadia and Late Prin. V. K. Jog, with ‘Diploma in Electrical Technology’ in 1938. Subsequently Diploma Courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer engineering and Computer Engineering & IOT were introduced.

Once upon time this was the only Institution offering Part Time Degree courses in engineering under Pune University for employed diploma holders. CWIT was the first polytechnic in the state of Maharashtra accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi. The Institute also received ISO 9001 certification from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Considering standard of education imparted by the Institute, Government of Maharashtra granted Academic Autonomy in the year 1985 for Diploma Courses. The Institute has introduced the Multi Point Entry and Credit (MPEC) system for Diploma Courses long back. The Institute has bagged awards for Best Faculty Development and Best Polytechnic Institute by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi.

The Institute had privilege of hosting National Convention and Maharashtra-Goa State Section Convention of ISTE. The Institute is actively involved in organizing number of conferences, seminars and workshops for teachers and students and has very close liaison with the industries.
